Auto News:  The upcoming Kia Syros EV has been spotted testing in India for the first time. The model was spotted testing at a charging station in Kochi, where it was completely covered to hide its design. Its window line, roof rails, pillars, shark fin antenna and body-coloured outside mirrors (ORVMs) can be seen. All these design elements look exactly like its ICE model. Even the front and rear lighting has not changed.

Kia Syros Design

The EV is expected to have minor design changes, such as the grille and the charging port at the front. The EV may also have EV badging on the exterior and green brake calipers, as seen in its previously spotted test model. There is likely to be no change in the dimensions of this compact electric SUV.

What can change in Kia Syros

There could be some minor changes inside the cabin as well. The Kia Syros EV could feature new trims and upholstery as well as an instrument cluster with EV software. The feature kit on board will be similar to the ICE-powered version, making it the most feature-packed and spacious vehicle in its segment.

Kia Syros Battery Pack

The specifications of the Syros EV are yet to be revealed. However, reports suggest that this electric compact SUV could share its powertrain with the Hyundai Inster EV, which is scheduled to launch in India in 2026. Globally, the Inster EV comes with two NMC battery pack options – 42kWh and 49kWh – with ranges of 300 km and 355 km.

Kia Syros Price

When launched, the Kia Syros EV will compete with the MG Windsor EV and the Tata Punch EV. It will be the most affordable electric car in India, with prices starting at around Rs 14 lakh for the base variant and going up to around Rs 20 lakh for the top-end trim. Currently, the Carens Clavis EV is Kia's most affordable electric SUV in India, priced between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
